My name is Chris Christianson. Welcome to the I Smell Packets blog. This is where I talk about networking, security, and other stuff. As you can tell by the name of this blog, I love packets.
I
live and work in Northern California. I’m the manger of networking and security for a financial institution. I’ve spoken at conferences and written articles for magazines. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and a number of certifications including the GIAC GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, and GREM.
Besides my regular job, I am also a Community Instructor for SANS. I teach SANS Security 401: SANS Security Essentials, Security 504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling, and Security 503: Intrusion Detection In-Depth.
